Homecoming Week promises to be one of fun, excitement, and school pride. The celebration kicks off October 3rd. Each day of the week coincides with a theme where the students and teachers dress up to reflect the theme. Our 2011-12 homecoming theme is “Take a walk into the WILD”. Below you will find details about homecoming at “The Creek”.

Dress Up Days – Patriot Pride
Monday – October 3, 2011– College Day
(Athletic Attire – jerseys, t-shirts, etc.)
Wear your favorite college team shirt on Monday and support YOUR team!
Tuesday – October 4, 2011 – Twin Day
Everybody has a twin. Who is yours?
On Tuesday choose a partner and be their twin for the day.
Wednesday – October 5, 2011 – Character Day
Choose your character for the day. Dress up as your favorite character or personality.
Thursday – October 6, 2011 – Theme Day “Take a walk into Wild”
Show how well you can represent our theme.
Friday – October 7, 2011 – Spirit Day
Show your school spirit in Red, White, and Blue. Wear gear that will show your Patriot Pride.
* We will highlight students who display the most school spirit based on how they are dressed.
Note: Administration has the right to reject a costume if it is inappropriate for a school setting. School dress code policies apply. We will allow headgear but it must be part of the costume and it must be removed during class. Students are not allowed to wear masks, swords, or anything we deem harmful or disruptive.
** Powder Puff Game
The annual Powder Puff game will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The Powder Puff football game features the Senior girls challenging the Junior girls in flag football.

Class Hall Decorating Contest
Each class has been assigned a specific hall to decorate on Wednesday, October 5th from 3:40 – 8:30 p.m. The assignments are as follows:
Students are allowed to begin decorating their halls after school on Wednesday until 8:30 p.m. Decorating ends Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. Judging will begin at that time. It is advised that your classroom is locked during decorating to prevent any theft. Here are rules for the contest:
Homecoming Parade
The Homecoming Parade will be held on Thursday, October 6th from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. It will begin in the parking lot of First Christian Church of Tyrone and end in the SCHS student parking lot. In order for your group or organization to be in the parade, you must fill out a Parade Entry Form (see Ms. Rasnake), by Tuesday, October 4th.You cannot participate if you are not registered. All decorations on the floats must be appropriate and comply with school and county policies. Line up for the parade will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Homecoming Court Breakfast
All members of the Homecoming Court will be attending a breakfast in their honor on Friday, October 7th during the first 30 minutes of first period in the Guidance Office. Students will be returning to their 1st period class.
Pep Rally
We will follow a Pep Rally schedule on Friday, October 7th. The pep rally starts at approximately 3:15 p.m. Students will follow the pep rally seating chart. All teachers must be present to assist with supervision. It is definitely helpful when teachers sit in the stands with the students. Before the pep rally various groups will be called out to prepare for the event. Some of these groups may include:
Students will be dismissed from school immediately after the pep rally.
Homecoming Game
The Homecoming Game is Friday, October 7th on “The Battlefield” at 7:30 p.m. The Patriots will battle the Locust Grove Wildcats. The Homecoming Queen and her Court will be presented during halftime.
Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 8th from 7:30 – 11:00 p.m. in the Commons. The Homecoming Dance is sponsored by the football cheerleaders. This year’s theme is “Take a walk into the WILD”. Tickets will be sold during all 3 lunches. Tickets are $10.00 the week of 9/26 – 9/30, $12.00 the week of 10/03 – 10/07, and $15.00 at the DOOR. Tickets can be purchased in Rm. 102 after school. The attire for the dance is Semi Formal (no midriffs, no jeans).
