SANDY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS CALENDAR – 2008-2009
The following dates are required of ALL chorus members and will count as part of your semester grade:
(Please refer to this calendar throughout the year. Upon receiving this calendar,
immediately notify the director in writing of any impending conflicts with
any “required dates.” Please consult this calendar when making job schedules, doctor’s appointments, etc. Please compare this calendar to athletic schedules and other academic calendars and notify the director immediately of any unforeseen conflicts so an immediate solution to any conflict can be reached to the benefit of ALL parties involved. Striving to fulfill ALL of your commitments is a noble and honorable character trait!)
September 25 - Madrigal Dinner Workshop – Select Men and Women Only – 4 – 9pm; Patriot Hall
September 26-27 – Madrigal Dinner – Select Men and Women Only –Patriot Hall; 5:00pm – 9:30pm
October 14 - Fall Concert - 7:00pm – Patriot Hall – ALL; 6:20 – warm-up
December 10– Holiday concert rehearsal for solo and group acts;3:30-6:30pm; Pat Hall
December 11 - Holiday Concert- 7:00pm-ALL - Patriot Hall; warm-up- 6:15pm
February 5– Miss Sandy Creek Pageant rehearsal – ALL MEN – 4:00 – 8:30pm; Pat Hall
February 7 - Miss Sandy Creek Pageant- ALL MEN – 6:30pm – 10:00pm; Patriot Hall
March 19 – Pre-Large Group Performance Evaluation (Festival) Concert – 7:00pm -
ALL; warm-up – 6:15pm; Patriot Hall
March 30, 31, April 1– GMEA LGPE (Festival) – (specific days and times will be
announced 2 weeks prior; this could be an evening, after school, or during school
field trip time)
May 4, 5, & 6 – Spring Show rehearsals - 3:30-9:30pm; Patriot Hall – these dates
will be divided and assigned per choir closer to date, keep this week open!
May 7 – Spring Show final dress rehearsal – 3:30-9:30pm - ALL – Patriot Hall
May 8 & 9 – Spring Show – 7:30pm - ALL; SCHS Commons; chorus warm- up –
6:15pm. (May 9th is a Saturday night!)

August ___– Choral Boosters Meeting – 7:00pm – Chorus Rm. 502 – all parents needed
August 29 – All-State Chorus Audition registration deadline
October 11 – All-State Chorus 1st audition @ Dutchtown High School
November 14– Talent Show rehearsal; 3:30pm; Patriot Hall
November 15– SCHS Talent Show sponsored by chorus; 7:00pm; Patriot Hall
December 2, 3, 4 – Fine Arts Musical Auditions
January 10 – All-State Chorus final audition @ Lee Middle School
January 20 – District Honor Chorus Sectional rehearsals – required for participation
January 23 & 24– District Honor Chorus – Clayton County PAC
February 7– Miss Sandy Creek Pageant (chorus fund raiser)
February 26, 27, 28 - All-State Chorus - Savannah
March 12 -15 – Fine Arts Musical production; Patriot Hall
May 21 - Chorus Banquet – 6:30pm; SCHS Commons
May 26 – Baccalaureate – 7:00pm; chorus reports at 6:15; New Hope Baptist Church
May 29- Graduation – SCHS Stadium
